The Sandusky City Commission on Aug. 10 approved an ordinance accepting a donated permanent landmark sign from the Brady family (via Brady Signs) for placement at the Jackson Street Pier great lawn.
Christine Mack, the family's designated spokesperson, told the Commission the family is "honored to present it tonight because we want to commemorate Sandusky as a place that we have called home in the Brady family for now 4 generations." She said the sign is intended as a photo and marketing amenity that will overlook Lake Erie and serve as a destination point for residents and visitors alike.
Commissioners thanked the family and Cedar Fair (mentioned by the speaker as a long-standing local corporate presence) and approved the ordinance under suspension of the rules. Staff will work with the donors on siting and installation details.
