Council approved a cost-share agreement with Longhorn Opportunity Fund LLC to upsize a developer-installed sanitary main in the Pecan Park Commercial development.
Staff explained the developer was required to install an 8-inch line but, given the location and potential future development connections, staff recommended buyers upsize to a 12-inch main. The additional cost to upsize the extra 4 inches was quoted at $34,005.23 and staff said the city would recoup that investment through future impact fees as development connects. The council approved the cost-share agreement by voice vote.
Staff said the 12-inch main was modeled to accommodate reasonably foreseeable development and that the size chosen balanced current needs and cost efficiency. The council approved the motion to authorize the cost-share and directed staff to finalize the agreement.
