The Bastrop City Council approved a staff-recommended waiver to remove the detention-pond requirement for a single-family home development at 112 Post Oak Grama.
Planning staff explained the alternate drainage standard would waive the detention pond and associated maintenance agreement because site-specific hardships make a pond impractical; staff said the proposed impervious coverage would not exceed 12.6% and that the estimated increase in runoff would be less than 1 cubic foot per second. Council member Plunkett moved to approve the waiver, a second was recorded, and council approved the motion by voice vote.
Staff indicated the waiver was reviewed by the Development Review Committee and that runoff and watershed impacts were modeled as minor; the council approved the waiver unanimously.
