Jeff Piauk, director of operations at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, told council the tent is intended to provide shade and seating for elderly guests and that the organizers did not expect to need police support because they would deploy their own barricades: "We're doing our annual Family Fun Fest event, on September 13 in the morning hours, requesting a tent permit to erect a 40 by 60 tent on our North Playground area." After questions about barricade handling and a brief check with police and fire staff, council approved both the tent permit and the road-closure motion by roll call.
The council instructed staff to ensure the approved closure preserved the car-wash exit and noted ongoing coordination with safety personnel for the event day.
