Sonora ISD renews Student Resource Officer agreement with Sutton County Sheriff's Department

The Sonora ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved an interlocal cooperation agreement with the Sutton County Sheriff's Department to provide Student Resource Officer (SRO) services for the upcoming year. Trustee Cynthia Perez moved to approve the agreement and Trustee Brenda Mungia seconded; the recorded vote was 7–0 in favor.
Minutes state this will be the third year Sonora ISD has entered the agreement with the sheriff’s office; the board did not record contract dollar amounts during the meeting. The arrangement continues the district's use of an SRO supplied under an interlocal arrangement.
