Supervisor Gabe Nudo presented a proposal to reduce the size of the Kenosha County Board from 23 members to 17 during the Feb. 18 meeting. Several supervisors objected to taking action now, citing concerns about constituent access and district size.
Chairman John Morrissey said he would vote no because he did not consider it the right time. Supervisor Tim Stocker, Supervisor Stephanie Knezz and Supervisor Mark Nordigan also expressed opposition; Supervisor Nordigan said his district is already large and reducing seats would make outreach harder. Supervisor Sarah Kirby relayed constituent feedback opposing the change and suggested reassessing the idea after the census. The proposal failed for lack of a motion and did not go to a formal vote.
