Mission Consolidated Independent School District received a non-modified audit opinion for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, and the Board of Trustees voted to accept the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Partner Esmeralda Yniguez of Carr, Riggs & Ingram told trustees the financial statements are presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and noted the district's continued participation in awards programs such as the Government Finance Officers Association certificate process.
Audit manager Heather Flores highlighted the district's financial position: the general fund balance totaled $99.4 million and the unassigned portion was $53 million, representing roughly 53% of fund balance. Trustees approved the ACFR unanimously (6-0). The auditor said there were no reportable material findings and that federal program testing (including the child nutrition cluster) resulted in a clean opinion for major programs.
