Nacogdoches students honored: swimmers reach state meet and district fine arts showcase announced

Les Linebarger told trustees that Nacogdoches High School had swimmers qualify for the State Meet for the 25th straight year, noting the last 22 were with Coach Scroggins. The minutes list individual qualifiers including Livia Whitaker, Jocelyne Lopez, Miki Puffer, Pepper Hill and others; alternates were also named.
Linebarger also introduced social workers and presented a PowerPoint titled "Social Work: Passion plus Action" in recognition of Social Worker Month. Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo highlighted theatre and visual arts achievements — the NHS production of "The Bald Soprano" advanced to bi-district competition and several art students scored 4s at the regional Visual Arts Scholastic Event — and announced a districtwide fine arts showcase on Saturday, April 12 at Nacogdoches High School.
