NISD board approves second reading of TASB policy updates and hears first reading on elementary dress code

The Board approved the Second Reading of TASB Policy Update 124 and related local policy edits following a January policy review session.
Presenter Michael Martin listed the policies included in the TASB update (examples recorded in the minutes: CAA (Fiscal Management Goals and Objectives - Financial Ethics); CDA (Other Revenues - Investments); CY (Intellectual Property); DH (Employee Standards of Conduct); EHB (Curriculum Design - Special Programs); EHBB (Special Programs - Gifted and Talented Students); FFG (Student Welfare - Child Abuse and Neglect); GKA (Community Relations - Conduct on School Premises)). The Board approved the Second Reading on a recorded vote.
The Board also approved a package of local policy additions, revisions and deletions prepared by TASB following the review session on January 22–23, 2025. Michael Martin presented these items and the Board approved the changes. Separately, the Board approved a First Reading of revised Local Policy FNCA (Student Conduct: Dress Code), which will revise the elementary dress code; this item was presented as a First Reading and not voted to final adoption at this meeting.
