Auburn employee Poker Run set for Friday at Lascaux Park; preregistration $25

The City of Auburn is holding a Poker Run this Friday at Lascaux Park (Lehi Park paved trail), with check-in at 6 p.m. and a roughly 6:30 p.m. start, city staff said on the Auburn on Main podcast. Registration is $25 before the event and $30 on the day of the run.
"Every lap that you complete, you pick up a random card from a deck of cards ... At the end of the run, you take all of those cards and put together what would be a poker hand," said Mackenzie Wallen, Auburn’s special events coordinator. Participants complete five laps; the top eight hands win prizes sponsored by a local partner. Preregistered participants receive a T-shirt.
The event is presented as a fun, inclusive city wellness activity — participants may run, walk or stroll the course. Wallen said volunteers will staff the course and stamp each participant’s scorecard. The race window allows late starters as long as they finish within the posted end time.
