Trustees review proposed summer projects including $1.6M warehouse renovation; playground options deferred

Interim Superintendent Dr. Darrell D. Myers presented proposed summer capital projects and itemized estimated costs at the April 14 agenda-review meeting. Projects listed and cost estimates were: Softball restroom (not-to-exceed $80,000, to include new fence, cement slab, sewage line and 50-amp electrical); 9th Grade kitchen (new walk-in freezer/cooler, prep area and storage — $304,500); TJR site work (walk-in cooler, delivery dock repair, auditorium ceiling and stairwell repair — $139,400); Warehouse renovation (offices and training area renovation, ADA restrooms, reroof, HVAC replacement, fire alarm update, re-keying, parking lot paving, dock access and site clearing — $1,608,609.69); Raguet playground (Option A $402,193.59; Option B $813,508.79); and TJR stage curtains ($126,000).
After discussion, President Farshid Niroumand directed that all items except the Raguet Playground be moved to the consent agenda for future board action; the playground options will be considered separately. No formal votes were taken during this discussion-only session.
