Magnolia ISD honors teachers, students and communications team at March board meeting
Summary
The board recognized students of the month and named Payton Beaver March Teacher of the Month. Magnolia ISD communications staff and community partners were recognized for awards and campus leadership changes were announced.
At its March 17 meeting Magnolia ISD recognized students, staff and community partners for campus- and district-level achievements.
Dr. Brandon Garza and principals honored Pierce Jasper (Magnolia Jr. High) and Fisher Granger (Bear Branch Elementary) as March Students of the Month. Payton Beaver, a seventh-grade math teacher and MJH cheer coach, was named March Teacher of the Month. Community partners including America's ER and Chick-fil-A, and campus programs (Magnolia West High School Floral Design and Culinary Arts) contributed recognitions and refreshments at the meeting.
Executive Director of Communications Denise Meyers presented the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Partner in Education award to Constable Chris Jones and highlighted several TSPRA honors received by the communications department, including platinum and gold awards and multiple category recognitions. Fine Arts Director Bob Medina recognized students who qualified for All-State band and choir and HLSR art finalists.
Dr. Ben King introduced new campus leadership for 2025–26: John Allbritton (Magnolia High School), Josh Jacobs (Bear Branch Junior High), Matthew Bess (Bear Branch Intermediate), John Owens (Bear Branch Elementary), and Katie Fields (Ellisor Elementary). The board took the recognitions and personnel announcements as informational items.
