The board began its meeting by recognizing student and staff accomplishments across academics, athletics, career and technical education, and the arts.
Highlights included UIL Academics qualifiers and individual medals (John Kehoe placed 5th in Mathematics and earned a silver medal in Calculator Applications), Giovanna Coello winning District Girls Singles and advancing to regionals, record-setting performances on the track including new school records, multiple FFA teams advancing to state evaluation contests and individual scholarship awards (Justin Braune noted as receiving a $10,000 scholarship from the San Antonio Livestock Show), and powerlifting state placings including a 2nd-place state finish for Ashton Evans. The board also recognized campus Teachers of the Year and band and winter guard Sweepstakes achievements. The recognitions were presented as part of the meeting's opening agenda and required no board action.
