Dr. Kolash, presiding over the Union County Human Services Board, moved to recommend Melissa Claflin Ford to fill a current nursing vacancy on the board and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff member explained that Brandy (not present) had interviewed and recommended Melissa Claflin Ford for the nursing position and that, if the board forwards the recommendation, the Board of County Commissioners will consider the appointment. "Brandy did apologize that she wasn't able to be here tonight. She will be back in September, but she did recommend Melissa Claflin Ford the nursing position," staff said.
Staff told members the recommendation will appear on the commissioners' September agenda and that the candidate may attend board meetings before appointment; staff clarified that, if appointed, the candidate would be a voting member beginning in October. The board recorded the voice vote to forward the recommendation and directed staff to place the item on the September commissioners' agenda.
