Council approves $3,200 amendment to PFAS feasibility study after irregular Well 5 samples

Public Works Engineering Technician Steven Patten reported PFAS had been detected in all three wells in the North Pressure Zone and that Well 5 had yielded inconsistent duplicate samples. To address that, staff proposed Amendment #1 to Contract 320 with GeoEngineers to add startup and delayed testing designed to determine whether flushing the well could reduce PFAS concentrations.
Council approved the amendment, which added $3,200 to the project cost and increased the contract total to $116,700, still under the $120,000 state grant allocated for the feasibility study. Councilor John Lyon moved to approve the amendment and Councilor Destiny Jensen seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
