Special Projects Manager Veronica Kamtschrower outlined the next phase — process improvement and reevaluation of strategic priorities — and said a comprehensive 3½‑year review will appear on upcoming agendas. Howard highlighted investments in health care access, the Livestream Behavioral Health Facility, the VA clinic under construction and road and parks work. Commissioners praised recent National Association of Counties achievement awards and recognized Ellen Nichols for a statewide risk‑management honor.
Commissioners asked staff to return with a clearer breakdown of returns on grant matches and timelines for projects such as beach restoration, which staff said depends on NOAA/Fisheries and Army Corps permitting. The presentation framed current work as the execution phase of a multi‑year strategic plan and emphasized transparency dashboards and performance management tools.
