Interim superintendent announces contract with TASB Facility Services for long-range planning

Interim Superintendent Dr. Darrell D. Myers announced on April 17 that "Nacogdoches ISD is entering into a contract with TASB Facility Services to support long-range facility planning and overall facility management for the district." The partnership, he said, will help assess building conditions, prioritize needed improvements and guide decisions to keep facilities aligned with student and staff needs.
Dr. Myers also highlighted student achievements: he noted multiple UIL first-division sweepstakes awards across middle and high school bands and choirs, and he congratulated track competitors Micah Lockett and Christine Schick for regional qualifying performances. He recognized NHS student Alicia Dowell as the first-place winner in the 17th Congressional District Art Competition and noted she received a $500 scholarship to Angelina College.
On campus safety, Dr. Myers publicly thanked NISD police Officer Dillon Cook for an incident in which a routine patrol led to discovery of a loose round of ammunition and a subsequent lawful search that recovered a loaded firearm and THC, preventing a potentially dangerous situation on campus.
