Draft CIP spotlights East Arapahoe safety, 30th Street upgrades and multiple bridge repairs

At the board's Aug. 10 meeting, project manager Brian Wiltshire highlighted selected projects in the draft CIP and the years when design and construction funding are anticipated.
Key projects and funding highlighted by Brian included the HSIP South Boulder Road & Manhattan Circle intersection ($1,590,000 total, $1,340,000 grant), 30th Street final design and construction from Walnut to Diagonal Highway ($9,300,000 total, $7,400,000 grant), the East Arapahoe Safety Project (total $12,000,000 with about $9.4 million in grants), a 26th Street bridge repair at Four Mile Canyon Creek ($8,400,000), a Folsom Bridge deck replacement ($5,000,000), and the South 30th Street corridor ($3,600,000 with $3,000,000 in grants).
"This project represents a TMP investment priority 1," Brian said of the HSIP intersection project, and he walked the board through anticipated design and construction years for several items. Staff noted that major grant programs (TAP, HSIP, SS4A and federal Safe Streets programs) provide substantial local match funding for several projects, while construction timing depends on grant awards and permitting.
