At its Sept. 23 meeting the council approved three operational items. Mayor Pro-Tem Bernie Gessner moved to approve an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Navasota and Grimes County for fire protection in unincorporated areas for FY2024–25; the motion was seconded by Councilmember Josh M. Fultz and passed unanimously.
The council also approved a base-bid annual lawn-care contract with JC Sand Dirt and Construction Services LLC not to exceed $319,843.00 (Miller Park excluded); the motion was moved by Councilmember Josh M. Fultz and seconded by Councilmember James Harris. Additionally, Mayor Bert Miller moved to approve Change Order No. 5 on the Keischnick General Contractors contract for negative $31,085.30; Councilmember Kenny Stevens seconded and the change order passed.
These items were recorded as motions with unanimous approval; the minutes do not include contract exhibits or the detailed scope of work for the lawn-care contract or the reason for the negative change order — those documents would be the source for detailed terms.
