Board appoints new principal for Campeck Elementary

The Jericho Union Free School District Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Laudie Kaufstein as principal of Campeck Elementary. Superintendent Dr. Robert Kravitz introduced Kaufstein to the board and the public, saying she “brings a strong track record of leadership, dedication, and commitment to student success,” and noted she will join Jericho from the Mamaroneck Union Free School District where she served as principal of Chatsworth Elementary School.
Board president (speaker 1) read the resolution appointing the candidate and called for a motion; the motion was moved by Mrs. Citron and seconded by Mrs. Wartner, after which the board recorded the vote as unanimous. The appointment includes the annual salary and term as set out in the resolution presented in the meeting packet. The board also thanked outgoing leaders and acknowledged the district’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition in building leadership.
