Board members opened a public hearing and heard no testimony before moving to adopt the ordinance. The motion to adopt was made by Commissioner Ludwig and seconded by Commissioner Nelson; the board approved the ordinance by roll call. Kelly said the amendment is intended to reduce unnecessary septic design work on lots where a Type 1 system cannot be sited, while still ensuring appropriate outcomes for new development.
