At its Aug. 10, 2026 meeting the Honey Brook Township Zoning Hearing Board approved two formal actions:
• Variance — Jonathan King (80 King Road): Approved. The board allowed the roofing business to operate as a second principal use and to maintain the existing gravel parking (application lists 24% impervious coverage on a 2‑acre parcel). Conditions require family occupancy of the dwelling, no expansion of impervious area (a top layer of gravel is permitted without enlargement), parking on impervious surfaces, required permits and stormwater compliance, routine hours Monday–Friday 6 a.m.–6 p.m., and limited public access (about one customer per week). The board admitted exhibits 1–7 including a supervisors’ letter recorded as opposing increased impervious coverage. Written decision due within 45 days; 30 days to appeal.
• Special exception — short‑term rental (1115 Park Road): Approved. The board granted a special exception to operate a short‑term rental in an accessory dwelling with conditions: maximum occupancy of six individuals, only one dwelling on the property may be used as a rental, owner or immediate family must occupy the other dwelling, and the applicant must obtain and comply with required permits. The supervisors’ earlier letter in the file is dated Oct. 21, 2025 and reflects prior discussion. Written decision due within 45 days; 30 days to appeal.
Both votes were recorded by voice as "Aye." The board indicated the zoning officer or township engineer may require additional site measurements or stormwater information during permit review. These two items constituted the substantive business of the evening; the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
