Needville council grants variance from 2021 IECC for Elementary School #3
Summary

Llarance Turner of Kaluza introduced Josh Hansen, the architect for Needville ISD, who explained that school planning began under the 2015 IECC and that the project’s design timeline required a variance from 2021 IECC sections C402.4.2, C405.12, and C405.11 related to monitoring and energy efficiency tracking. Hansen told the council there were no safety issues with continuing under the older standard.
Councilperson Phillip Wigginton moved to grant the requested variance and Councilperson Dusty Kalkomey seconded; the council recorded the motion as carried with all voting aye.
