The superintendent provided a detailed facilities update across the district's capital projects, reporting multiple completions and upcoming milestones. Jamesville Elementary's UPK playground is finished and a bathroom suite demo is complete; Moses DeWitt's playground prep and sidewalk poured with rubber surfacing to follow this week. The district preserved and packaged stones from a memorial demolition for future work.
At the high school, the Linden Baseball Field has installed a scoreboard, completed fencing and underground utilities, and completed hydroseeding; punch-list work remains and turf installation was scheduled for the week of Aug. 3. The superintendent said a fiber cable was damaged during excavation on a project but the contractor will install a new fiber line and conduit at no cost to the district.
The superintendent also reported pre-construction work for a cell-phone tower has begun, with an estimated target completion "by the start of the school year" (the superintendent mentioned Aug. 23 as a tentative date but added "don't quote me on that"). Board members asked about public outreach to neighbors and the district said it had provided property-line maps and staked the areas to address environmental and proximity concerns.
These facility updates were provided as informational items during the July 13 meeting; the board encouraged continued community communication and follow-up as construction progresses.
