"Late last week, it was brought to our attention that the governor passed a public act that became effective July 1," Amy said, adding that staff will update the case-management system and that copies of the proposed ordinance changes were provided to Jeremy and Charlie for review.
Amy said the clerk’s office is implementing the fee on new filings while the board completes its formal amendment process: "We have until the end of the month to implement this, which is fine on our end. We'll change our case management system for these fees to be added." She asked the committee to expect a formal ordinance amendment and vote on the measure later; the item was noted for follow-up but no board action was taken at the meeting.
