The Orange Grove ISD Board of Trustees adopted the district budget for 2025–2026 and approved a property tax rate of 0.9843 during its regular meeting on Aug. 18, 2025.
Board President Zulema Gonzalez called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. After presentations and a public hearing on the budget, Board member Erika Hesseltine moved to approve the 2025–2026 budget; Scott Hinze seconded and the motion carried with all members voting in favor. Hesseltine then moved to set the tax rate at 0.9843; Travis Wanoreck seconded and the motion carried. The minutes state that the approved rate "does not exceed the no-new-revenue tax rate."
The budget adoption followed an informational presentation on the proposed budget and tax rate by Jodi Schroedter during the public hearing portion of the meeting. The transcript records the budget adoption as a formal motion (6D) and the tax-rate approval as motion (6E). The board also approved a resolution providing for defeasance and redemption of certain district obligations as part of the meeting's fiscal actions.
Board actions on the budget and tax rate were unanimous in the minutes; the meeting record lists 15 board members and administrators present when the votes were taken.
