Developers present revised site plan for Maplewood Custard PUD; council advances plan

At a public hearing, the development team for Maplewood Custard LLC presented a revised preliminary plan and a request to rezone 7606 Manchester Road from AB (Arterial Business) to PUD (Planned Unit Development).
Ryan Swanson of Arc Design Resources said the main change from the prior submission is the addition of two driveways on Manchester and a slight (~30-foot) eastward shift of the existing drive location to improve drive-through operations, parking circulation and a visible mid-block crosswalk. He said four oak trees at the site’s edge will remain. Bernard Pilar, who identified himself as the operating partner, joined the presentation.
A councilor asked about hours of operation; a representative said hours would be Sunday–Thursday 10 a.m. to midnight and Friday–Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Council members thanked the applicant for timely revisions and clarity; with no audience opposition, the council voted to carry the item to a third and final reading at the next meeting.
