New Buffalo Township Fire Chief Jamie Flick showed council members how Community Connect allows residents to store crucial information tied to their home address so emergency responders can have quick access to names, phone numbers and keyholder contacts. The demonstration was presented early in the July 11 Village of Michiana meeting at the request of the council.
Flick advised residents how to sign up and directed them to the fire-department website. "If you’re interested in signing up for the program, got to their website: Newbuffalotownshipfiredepartment.org," he told the council. The service is intended to help responders find household medical, access and contact information during emergencies; residents who want the service were advised to enroll online.
