The Douglas County Board of Commissioners convened a public hearing Sept. 26, 2025, on Alomere Health’s proposal to convert to 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The hearing opened at 7:30 a.m. and was attended by Commissioners Tim Kalina, Charlie Meyer, Jerry Rapp, Shane Schmidt and Jeff Way.
Tom Schroeder, Senior Counsel at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, presented information for the record on nonprofit governance and lease terms relevant to a conversion. Lenae Roeser, Clerk of the Board, noted that the Minnesota Nurses Association had submitted a letter concerning the transfer of the county-owned hospital to Alomere Health; the transcript records the letter's submission but not its full contents.
