The Village of Michiana council unanimously approved new leadership at its Dec. 13 meeting. Mike Botelho moved to nominate Tim McCarthy for council president, and the motion was seconded by Brian Cassidy; the nomination passed by a 5–0 roll-call vote.
Tim McCarthy then moved to nominate Brian Cassidy as president pro tem, a motion seconded by Mike Mumper and also approved 5–0. The roll call that opened the meeting recorded McCarthy, Cassidy, Botelho, Nancy Thill and Mike Mumper as present.
The leadership changes were procedural and took place at the start of the meeting as part of routine organizational items. No related policy actions or changes in committee assignments were announced at the meeting's close.
