The Douglas County Board voted to deny a repair request for County Ditch 21 after being presented with an estimated repair cost that could reach $105,500.
Commissioner Charlie Meyer moved to deny the request and Commissioner Jeff Way seconded; the motion carried 4–0 with Commissioner Jerry L. Rapp absent. The minutes note that landowners remain able to pursue a petition for abandonment if they wish to address the drainage issue by that route.
The board did not authorize repair funding for the ditch at the Sept. 16 meeting and no alternate funding source was identified in the discussion recorded in the minutes.
