Douglas County approves final plats, grants sign permit condition and denies 69-lot storage PUD

On Aug. 19 the Douglas County Board approved multiple land‑use items and adopted findings in a contested conditional-permit matter.
The Board approved Final Plat: Belle River Addition, Final Plat: Sahara Beach First Addition, and Final Plat: Carlson Acres. It approved a Conditional Use Permit for The Church in the Pines to allow two illuminated signs on one parcel with the condition that the signs not be illuminated between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. The Board also adopted proposed findings of fact supporting the denial of DOB Properties LLC’s conditional use permit application for a proposed 69‑lot storage planned unit development; the denial was adopted by motion and roll-call vote.
These items were handled as part of routine planning and zoning business. Motions to approve plats and the CUP condition were carried by recorded votes; the denial of the DOB Properties application included adoption of findings of fact supporting the Board’s determination.
