Resident flags inconsistency in posted hours for Just Escape Room

During the PC 235 public hearing, resident Randy Valenta of 19 South LaGrange Road said he found an inconsistency in the paperwork about operating hours and asked whether the commission should address it.
Valenta pointed to slide materials showing Friday and Saturday hours running to 11:30 p.m. and contrasted that with materials from 2017 that indicated operations to 11:00 p.m. "The business proposed hours there Bridal and Saturday will, run till 11:30PM," Valenta said, adding he was concerned about spillover in a semi‑residential area.
Staff responded that the commission may set hours as a condition of approval and that the previous ordinance likely references hours. Applicant Jordan Couch explained how his scheduling works: "We show 10:30 on the website because that's when we stop taking walk ins. But if someone bake books a 10:30 time slot, they're technically there till 11:30," Couch said.
Commissioners concluded there had been no complaints reported by police or code enforcement about hours and asked staff to document official hours in the approval record. The approval ultimately included the hours listed in the staff report as part of the conditions.
