Council updates water project, drywell proposals and notes pending Grand Beach contract review

Village councilors reported progress on water infrastructure and related agreements during the May 9 meeting. Public Works Superintendent Rick Reitz described proposals included in his report for two additional drywells and associated paving work, and said any paving for the drywells would be performed in the fall.
Under Old Business, Tim McCarthy said Grand Beach will consider a proposed 50-year water contract at its council meeting the following Wednesday, keeping that intergovernmental contract under review. Councilors also discussed coordinating procurement: "We want to do 1 bid for both projects," Mumper said, indicating an intent to consolidate bidding for efficiency. No formal contract award to Grand Beach was recorded at this meeting; the village awaits Grand Beach's review.
