Douglas County names board appointees, approves gambling and liquor licenses

At the Nov. 4 session the board made several personnel appointments and approved licenses.
Commissioner Jerry Rapp appointed Barb Hagenson to the Housing Redevelopment Authority Board (District 3) for a five-year term beginning Dec. 1, 2025. The board appointed Dave Schultz as an at-large member of the Library Board for a three-year term starting Jan. 1, 2026. The board recommended Heather Molesworth for appointment to the Horizon Community Health Board (at-large representative). Commissioner Rapp appointed Gene Rasmussen (District 3) and Commissioner Meyer appointed Jessica Klimek (District 4) to three-year Extension Committee terms beginning Jan. 1, 2026. All recorded appointments carried with unanimous votes where recorded.
The board approved Resolution 25-91 allowing Alexandria Industries Charitable Foundation to conduct lawful gambling in the form of a raffle at the Smith Lake Public Access on Feb. 21, 2026, and approved on-sale and off-sale liquor licenses for Melby Outpost LLC. The motions carried unanimously.
