Brian Cassidy reported the village will leave two garbage cans at each beach stop and remove recycle toters after the garbage service reported misuse (people dumping trash into recycling bins). Cassidy told residents, "If you would like to recycle, please bring your recycling back to your home." The council approved using numbered stickers on toters to help locate missing cans and said inmate crews will assist with beach cleanup at the end of April.
Planters will be placed at beach stops during the first week of May and volunteers have adopted most stops; the clerk said Stop 37 remains available. The changes are intended to reduce trash at the beach stops and make it easier to track and recover village property.
