Douglas County approves reissuance of health care bonds tied to Alomere Health lease

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 21 adopted Resolution 25-78 approving the reissuance of several Gross Revenue Health Care Facilities Bonds to facilitate continued use and management of county-financed health-care facilities by Alomere Health. The motion was made by Commissioner Charlie Meyer and seconded by Commissioner Shane Schmidt; the vote was unanimous (Kalina, Meyer, Rapp, Schmidt and Way).
The resolution lists the outstanding principal amounts by series: Series 2012A $1,635,000; Series 2014 $6,302,710; Series 2015A $6,283,292; Series 2017 $1,021,979; Series 2018A $2,697,603; and Series 2018B $4,622,842. The county’s action anticipates a Lease and Agreement with Alomere Health effective Jan. 1, 2026, and authorizes officers to prepare certified copies and affidavits to support the tax-exempt status of the reissued bonds under Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The public hearing on the reissuance opened at 9:02 a.m.; Nate Meyer, CFO of Alomere Health, presented background information and there were no public comments. The Board closed the hearing at 9:04 a.m. and then adopted the resolution. No additional conditions or dissent were recorded.
