Commission approves 140‑foot dock extension for Parkside Drive homeowner

The Lake George Park Commission voted to approve a dock modification requested by Robert Todd of 14 Parkside Drive, allowing the existing 100‑foot structure to be extended to 140 feet from the mean high water mark and remain within a 20‑foot sideline setback.

Todd described sediment buildup in Finkle Brook that has made the existing dock unsafe for launching and retrieving vessels, saying the shallows now require “physically get[ting] out and walk the boat and lift up the stern so it doesn't drag on the bottom” to enter or exit (Applicant Robert Todd). Commissioners who visited the site called the request reasonable; the commission recorded findings under New York regulations cited in the resolution and concluded the modification would not adversely affect public health, safety, the park's resources or the character of the area.
