Local coach urges South Ogden to back switch to Ute youth football conference

Lewis said the Ute Conference is more expensive but offers better matchups and development: "it's about a little under $400 a kid to play." He said the league has scholarship programs and that parents have begun fundraising; he asked the council primarily to allow teams access to city practice fields, citing a July 25 practice start date and staff coordination needs.
Mayor Porter thanked Lewis and said the council would discuss the request with the recreation department at a future meeting. The council did not act on the request at the meeting but the mayor asked staff to schedule a work session on Little League/Ute Conference issues to consider field use and logistics.
