"Is there anyone who wishes to speak during public period at this time?" the presiding official asked; after a brief interval the official stated, "At this time, public period is now closed." The council moved on to subsequent business, including a motion to enter closed session.
Each member of the public had been allotted two minutes to speak, but no speakers signed up or were recognized during the allotted time.
