Finance staff said interest earnings and contingency improvements leave approximately $4.4 million available for additions beyond the already‑approved gym and solar panel work; board members discussed prioritizing safety and Meadowview renovations instead of athletic add‑ons. One motion to approve the full $7.7 million 'all‑in' gym option failed for lack of a second, and the board agreed to seek cost breakdowns and prioritize projects before a final vote.
