Resident announces nonprofit local-news site covering Arundel, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport

"My name is Jake Hawkins. I'm a resident of Arundel," Jake told the board and described a nonprofit, nonpartisan online newsletter/web publication launched May 15 that will publish municipal coverage, obituaries, letters and opinions. He said the project grew out of the loss of the Kennebunk Post and that the team hopes to add a print edition in the fall; Jake also offered contact cards and an email address for tips and comments (info@thelocalnewsonline.org).
The board recorded the website on the meeting video and thanked Jake for the announcement. Jake said he has worked with town staff on stabilization and road-improvement items and invited questions and suggestions from board members and residents.
