Gurney’s Inn Resort and Spa agreed to pay $2,500 to settle a disciplinary matter the board described as an aberration in a long operator history. The board accepted the offer after counsel described remedial security steps taken since the incident.
Other cases resolved on offers included multiple no‑contest and consent offers across New York City, Buffalo and Albany. The board repeatedly emphasized that repeated violations (gambling devices, sales from unauthorized sources, untaxed cigarettes, or serious on‑site incidents) can lead to cancellation and bond if fines are not paid or if operators fail to correct conduct.
Chair Lily Fan reminded licensees and attendees that public safety and compliance remain a priority and that the authority will continue to pursue enforcement where facts warrant.
