Commissioner Glenn told the council that the police department has approximately sixty pictures of vacant homes and that he drafted a letter to distribute to owners of newly vacant properties and those previously notified. "Commissioner Glenn stated that the police department has around sixty pictures of vacant homes, and he drafted a letter to be sent out for new vacant homes, and homes that have been sent a letter already," the minutes record.
Mayor Goldsmith asked whether the downtown vacant buildings were being addressed as well. Commissioner Glenn said he had provided vacant-home information to the new nursing-home owners to complete and return to City Hall. Commissioner Arkebauer also raised sending a resident-information letter and asked Attorney Chris Sherer to draft a version for council review.
