Pastor Kathy of Trinity Lutheran Church asked the council for permission to place what she described as a 'mailbox, but not a mailbox' along the Carl Trail where people could leave prayer requests, poems and notes in a composition notebook. She said the church would maintain it and that users could add content without leaving their cars.
Council members asked about possible mischief and said staff would periodically check contents; the chair confirmed maintenance responsibilities would fall to the proposing organization. Council moved, seconded and voted in favor of allowing the box to be placed and maintained by Trinity Lutheran Church.
