Commissioner urges city to explore buying blighted lot; mayor to follow up with county

Commissioner Glenn told the council during a closed-session discussion on April 14 that he would like the city to investigate purchasing a lot that contains a house described in poor condition, with the intent of tearing the house down. "I would like to look into purchasing a lot that has a house that is in bad shape and tear it down. It is a large lot," Glenn said.
Mayor Goldsmith responded that he would look into the parcel and contact county staff member Nikki Lohman to gather additional information.
