Pewitt CISD trustees approved several summer projects and equipment purchases from fund balance at the April 21 meeting, citing facility maintenance and student-safety priorities. Motions recorded in the minutes authorized purchases that include: a field striping paint machine for $4,000; auditorium carpet replacement for $21,000; flooring in five classrooms for $22,500; a stadium sound system for $35,000; an additional patrol car (with radio and decals) for $13,000; and a 50% share purchase of Centegix for $136,000.
The Centegix line item, described in the minutes as "Centegix for the amount of $136,000.00 (1/2 of cost) out of fund balance," was moved by Mark McCoy and seconded by Caleb Higgins. Several motions listed abstentions on individual items where noted in the minutes; where the minutes list motions and seconds without recorded dissent, the items are recorded as approved. The purchases tie to earlier agenda discussion of facilities and security during informational items and the executive-session security briefings.
