Council adopts FY27 fee schedule with modest water, sewer and parks increases

The Raymore City Council approved Resolution 26‑34 on Aug. 10, adopting multiple changes to the city's FY27 fee schedule.
Lisa Williams summarized the package presented at a recent work session, saying the excise tax per trip would increase by the construction cost index (3%) and that tap fees were adjusted similarly. Williams told the council the residential water rate will move from $6.88 to $6.94 per 100 gallons and the sewer rate from $9.42 to $9.76 per 1,000 gallons. Parks and Recreation updates include removal of prime/nonprime shelter distinctions and a higher daily gym-pass rate (10 visits) from $20 to $25; the council discussed whether Parks teams would be exempt from some rental fees and requested a written clarification.
Councilmember Serco moved approval and Councilmember Burke seconded; the resolution passed unanimously, 7‑0. Staff said the fee changes are intended to reflect cost-of-service adjustments and to cover program provisions while maintaining access for residents.
