Raymore City Council honors late Councilmember Tom Inger

Mayor Turnbull opened the Aug. 10 Raymore City Council meeting by announcing the death of Councilmember Tom Inger on Aug. 1 and asking the council to observe a moment of silence in his memory.
Mayor Turnbull said Inger "dedicated his life to serving others" through law enforcement and community leadership, noting his years with the Kansas City Police Department, Grandview Police Department and as a public-safety instructor. Multiple councilmembers shared personal remembrances and thanked public-safety and public-works staff for their service. City staff announced that a work session on Aug. 17 will include council counsel approval of the process to select a replacement for Inger.
Inger's passing was recognized during opening remarks and the council did not take any personnel action at the meeting. The city will address replacement procedures in the Aug. 17 work session.
