Council approves purchase of two John Deere mowers for street department
Summary
After staff preferences were reported, the council approved buying two John Deere lawn mowers (one 60" deck and one 72" deck) for the street department. The motion passed unanimously among members present.
Commissioner Glenn presented two quotes for lawn mowers and asked street-department employees which machines they preferred. Street Department foreman Tim Chumley and Dolan O’Malley said they preferred John Deere mowers; Commissioner Glenn moved to purchase two John Deere machines (a 60" deck and a 72" deck) and the motion carried.
The minutes record discussion about deck size, horsepower, brand and service; staff preferences were considered in approving the purchase. The council did not record the vendor price in the minutes and directed staff to complete the procurement process as specified by city purchasing rules.
